The best way to learn a new skill in the kitchen is to do it yourself.
What could be better than watching as one of your food heroes shows a tricky culinary technique or puts together a dish they like to eat at home? How about having that hero standing at your shoulder, giving advice, as you follow their instructions and create the dish yourself.
Like many things in life – riding a bike or surfing a wave, for example – we believe the best way to learn a new skill in the kitchen is to do it yourself.
With this philosophy in mind, The Advertiser has teamed with TAFE SA's Regency International Centre to create a series of hands-on cooking classes, featuring some of the state's best known chefs and food experts, as part of the Tasting Australia festival.
The L Plates classes, included in TAFE SA’s Gastronomic Adventures short course program, will be over two sessions, morning and afternoon, on Saturday, April 6. Practical and fun, L Plates classes are run with small groups (maximum 16 participants) and plenty of time to hone techniques with our amazing team of mentors.
Classes are $85, other than the five-hour “Knead to Know” baking class which is $115.
